During a two year period as associate artist at The Place (at the invitation of artistic director John Ashford) Arthur formed his own company, named ARTHUR PITA OPEN HEART
. It was launched with its first performance of BoomShe SheBoom
and BUGGER a fairy tale
at The Place: Robin Howard Dance Theatre on 5 & 6 December 2003. On the 17 June 2004 CAMP was premiered at The Place and a year later CAMP
returned for a 10 day run, followed by a UK tour.
Arthur has now formed Open Heart Productions. The aim of Open Heart Productions is to create highly original dance theatre productions under the artistic direction of Arthur Pita, focusing on a collaborative and open process leading to work that is individual and unique.
